I just put the R11 Hybrid Rescue 21 into play this week after a month with the Mashie 20.5. The results so far couldn't be more opposite. I eagerly waited for the Mashie after reading the excitement on the board for months. For me the results would typically be 1 jaw dropper per round and 2-3 big-time hooks. For a guy who plays a baby fade that wasn't helping me out. The results so far with the R11 have been everything I wanted, a consistent high ball flight, a 5 yard baby fade and consistent distance. I love how the club frames the ball, it's incredibly easy to compress and trust the results. So far I've used it 9 times on the course from the FW and have hit virtually the same shot each time - complete consistency. I've used it 2x from the rough and those results haven't been so great but in fairness both were side hill/down hill lies that the R11 performed better than an iron would have for me. So far so good.

TaylorMade R11 Hybrid adjustment

The more a driver is tuned to you, the farther you'll hit it. With R11's 3D Tuning, you can independently tune loft, face angle and flight path to your swing to maximize your distance. Only TaylorMade R11 Hybrid is this adjustable. Only R11 gives you this much control over your distance.
Everything about the TaylorMade R11 Hybrid adjustment screams ‘technology.’ The paint on the crown, the RIP shaft, and especially the adjustability factor. This factor, known as Flight Control Technology (FCT), is the soul of this club. With FCT you can increase or decrease the launch angle by 1 degree. There are eight, count them eight, different FCT positions that allow you to increase or decrease loft in .5 increments as well. Why should it’s big brother R11 driver have all the adjustable fun right? With every FCT adjustment your spin rate will also change as well. More loft gives you more spin for greater carry while the lower the loft the less spin you’ll get with a little less carry. Don’t believe me? Look at Exhibit A below. Exhibit B can be found in the ‘Testing’ section of this review where I tell you what I saw when I played with these different settings to dial myself in. In addition to the adjustability, Taylormade also placed the CG (center of gravity) lower and more towards the rear of the clubhead which is designed for better shot shaping capability. Does this all work like its advertised? Read on my friends.

Overall
Taylormade has given the golfer options without making them feel that they will be overwhelmed and not end up using the features that come with the Rescue R11. I think this is a nice bonus to a golfer who may not yet be ready to take on an adjustable driver or fairway wood. Crawl before you can walk right? Hybrids have officially joined the adjustability game and the Rescue R11 is a player. A serious one at that, paint scheme aside. There’s a little something for everyone with this club and it should definitely be on your short list to check out if you’re in the market for a new hybrid
