Like the r7, the clubface of the TaylorMade R9 TP Irons specs uses the inverted cone technology
on the inner side of the clubface for consistent ball speed on
off-center hits. Using that as their foundation, the new R9 irons long
and mid irons were designed separately from the short irons to optimize
performance in each club.
The 3- through 6-irons house a fully enclosed, foam-filled
compartment located directly behind the clubface and beneath the cavity
badge. TaylorMade refers to this chamber as the "Velocity Control
Chamber" because it is meant to create a higher launch angle, more
power, and optimal feel. Moreover, the weightless soft feel foam allows
the engineers to have an ultrathin (2.0 mm) face that wraps around the
topline and leading edge. When the face flexes at impact, it is meant to
act like a thin-faced driver and result in a higher CoR, faster ball
speed, and added distance.
The price of it is $397.97 can buy on site yogolfclubs.com
recently aquired a set 3 through pw of TaylorMade R9 TP irons for non forged irons
they have a good soid feel there was no tingling from a mishit . i
recieved longer ball flight from 3 to 5 irons about 30 metres 6 to PW
much the same lower ball flight and better control easily workable off
the front or back foot over my previous set i didnt go to my local as i
wouldnt be given the opportunity to try certain brands i also tried ping
i15 and S57 srixon i 701 so if your used to minimal offset and a thin
topline then you will find the transition easy the shafts are second to
none using rifle 6.0 before the kbs tour shaft are just wicked
