For the R9 and TaylorMade R9 TP Irons reviews, TaylorMade sought to design an iron that
combined modern performance (as in forgiveness) with superb distance in a
classic frame. In order to pay special attention to each iron across
the entire set, TaylorMade's R&D took different approaches for the
long irons and the short irons.
The design of the sole also serves another purpose: the sole radius provides a great deal of assistance for sidehill lie shots. The Raylor's sole radius presents an angle of 17° up from horizontal, as opposed to the previous Burner Rescue, which was only 10°. That leads to 70% more sole relief on the heel and toe side, and effectively makes it much easier to make clean contact with a ball above or below your feet. Another benefit to the Raylor is a near-guaranteed increase in clubhead speed, due to the inch of added length in the RE*AX 65 gram shaft.

this, and similar to the driver, it has to do with extended shaft
length, lighter components, and above average balance. I would also be
remiss if I failed to mention that the aforesaid components are not only
lighter. but top shelf quality as well. The Winn Grip is no longer the
old "Tayor Made throw away" grip from days gone by. It is a grip that
Winn has brought to market with great hooplah as a stand alone product.
Similar to the driver version--this grip weighs a meagre 30 grams vs.
standard grip weight of 52 grams.

I feel the need to print some specs simply because I've already read many site's that are reviewing this club, and quoting the exact same mistakes in specifications. The 3 Wood is 15* not 13*. The 5 Wood is 18* not 15*, and the 7 Wood is 21* not 17*. I am sad to see the cribbing of notes, especially erroneous ones, has gotten so out of hand across the internet. It gives a lot of us reviewers a bad name. This particular Matrix Ozik shaft is a Mid-torque shaft--not a low torque shaft. It has a soft tip--not a stiff one, and last but not least, it is a new geometry---not a triangle.
